McLaren, the British supercar maker, has just introduced its first widely available hybrid, the Artura Spider. This new model, slated for a 2025 release, comes with several fresh enhancements, aligning itself with other top-notch rivals while keeping its weight at 3,300 pounds.

The Artura Spider’s lightweight design follows McLaren’s focus and makes it one of the lightest convertibles in today’s supercar market. McLaren CEO Michael Leiters mentioned that the hybrid offers more power, enhanced dynamic performance, and a heightened sense of connection, all without compromising everyday driving.

The car comes with a folding hardtop roof that smoothly disappears into the rear deck in just 11 seconds when you switch to convertible mode, even while driving at 31 mph. This roof panel is crafted from carbon-fiber composite and can be optionally made with electrochromic glass, allowing you to turn the glass transparent or opaque with a simple touch of a button.

McLaren’s Artura Spider is not just a convertible marvel; it combines a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 with an electric motor for nearly 700hp. The 8-speed dual-clutch transmission improves shifts by 25%, reaching 60mph in 3.0 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph. It offers three handling modes and introduces a fun “Spinning Wheel Pull-Away” feature. Currently open for orders, this hybrid beauty promises a thrilling blend of power, technology, and driving dynamics.
